A woman with long blonde hair, glasses, and earrings is sitting on a chair, wearing a black dress and a light blue blazer. She has one leg crossed over her knee and is looking at the camera. Behind her is a leafy bush with dark berries, and white curtains are visible on the right side of the image.

I lead from beside, not from above.

Meet Brandi Bartlett, Founder and Principal Consultant of B Seen Consulting Inc.

How B Seen Began

I've spent more than 20 years working in Human Resources across Hospitality, Hotels, Restaurants, Information Technology, Accounting, Not for Profit, Manufacturing, Health Care, Personal Service and Wellness. Along the way, I noticed something: HR often gets a bad rap. It's seen as paperwork, policy and the people who deliver bad news.

But the best organizations I've worked with saw it differently. They knew their people were one of their greatest resources, and they treated them that way. Those workplaces thrived.

B Seen Consulting started the way a lot of good things do: with a friend and colleague who needed help and trusted that I was the right person for it. From there, word spread. Business owners and leaders in my circle started reaching out when they needed something a little different when it came to their people and culture. They knew they could count on me to come in, see what was really going on, and help.

"Years of serving, leading and observing people taught me that everyone wants to feel seen, heard and valued. This belief guides my leadership and connection with others."

What's in a Name?

The "B" comes from my name. The rest comes from what I believe, and from a book that put words to it.

When I read Feeling Seen: Reconnecting in a Disconnected World by Dr. Jody Carrington, it stopped me in my tracks. Her message that connection is what we all need, at home and at work, captured everything I had seen in my years in HR. People don't thrive because of a policy or a program. They thrive when someone truly sees them.

That idea became the heart of my business. Before we can act well, we need to see clearly. That means taking the time to observe, listen and truly understand the people and situations in front of us. When people feel seen, they show up differently. And when leaders learn to see their people differently, they lead differently too.

That's what B Seen is all about.

A Little More About Me

People often tell me I can light up a room, and that they remember how I made them feel. I'm a connector at heart. I love bringing people together, sharing stories and championing the businesses in my community.

When I'm not working, you'll find me setting my lineup for an all women’s fantasy football league or on the rugby/football field with my two kids. My friends and family are my biggest supporters and so important to me!.

I'd love to learn about your business and your people.
